There are a number of very obvious symptoms that will signal to a person that they are suffering from lung cancer. Many of these symptoms of lung cancer can seem harmless at first, and therefore be left untreated. However if lung cancer isn’t diagnosed early, it can deteriorate into an untreatable disease. The symptoms of lung cancer that develop at the early stages include a persistent cough that will not improve, chest pains and coughing up blood. It is commonly coughing up blood that people see as the first sign of needing to go to a doctor. Other symptoms include shortness of breath, fatigue or inveterate bronchitis or pneumonia.

It is quite possible for a person to display some of these symptoms of lung cancer and not have the disease. Many of these can occur as a symptom of other diseases or by themselves, however when these symptoms occur simultaneously it is time to go to a doctor to be tested for lung cancer. The most effective treatment for lung cancer is early intervention, and when this occurs it is possible for a person to live a long and healthy life. However when the symptoms of lung cancer are left to develop and worsen, the disease becomes more and more difficult to treat.

When a person notices one or any of the symptoms it is imperative to their health that they seek medical attention. Untreated symptoms will develop into more harmful afflictions that will lead to lung cancer of a greater severity. Lung cancer is a common cause of death and one of the most frequently evident forms of cancer, however it is one that is most treatable if detected early. It is important to detect these symptom of lung cancer early to give the sufferer a fighting chance.
